30 Years - Conspiracy to Possess and Distribute Cocaine and Cocaine base

I was named in a 10-court indictment passed down by a federal grand jury, January 11, 2000, in the eastern district of Texas. Court one charged others and myself with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base.

On July 20, 2000 after a plea of not guilty, I was convicted by a jury with reference to one of the indictments. The only evidence presented which in any way implicated me were the sole testimonies of indicted and unindicted co-conspirators. All of their testimonies were secured and presented in exchange for promises of non-prosecution and/or leniency.

I have never been locked up before! I was charged with drugs that my co-conspirators possessed. The law officers admitted that no drugs were ever purchased from or found in my possession, and that no audio or video surveillance was conducted.

I received a 4-point enhancement for leader and organizer from the testimony of my co-conspirators. I was sentenced to 360 months in federal prison and five years supervised release.

Thanks - Mr. Karl Pipkins
